Powering Green Goals at Elverys

INTERSPORT Elverys is making a major move to become sustainable. As everyone's actions towards the environment count, the team is investing over €1 million in solar energy to show commitment to a greener, more eco-friendly future.

The solar power generated at the large Elverys location contributes 31% clean energy to the distribution centre, providing over 200,000 kWh per year, which, not only meets but exceeds energy requirements. Any excess energy generated gets fed back into the grid, allowing provision of 61% of their energy from renewable sources.

The recycling centre has 60 solar panels that produce more than enough electricity to cover the needs. This surplus energy powers six charging points for electric vehicles, promoting greener commuting and better air quality. INTERSPORT Elverys is proud to say that their efforts have already reduced carbon emissions by over 123 tonnes, a significant step towards more environmentally friendly practices.

As dedicated environmentalists, INTERSPORT Elverys is meticulous in its approach. It is clear that sustainability is a sound business decision as the return on investment will be achieved in just 7-8 years.
