As a sporting goods retailer, we understand the decisions we make across our supply chain all have an impact on the environmental footprint of our products.
We want to support our consumers to make the right choices.
Many products produced under brands exclusively distributed at INTERSPORT offer responsible solutions either in the raw materials, technologies or production processes.
Knowing that all the brands that we work with are at different stages in their responsible journey and use differing certifications, innovations and technologies, we want to give further guidance to our consumers.
‘Responsible content’ products are made of responsible materials* in an amount of over 15% of a main component or over 50% of a sub-component. Green Series products offered by our Exclusive Brands take it a step further by respecting strict criterias: their main component must contain more than 50% of responsible materials. For a product to be labelled as a “responsible product”, it either needs to be fully certified to a recognised standard or have, at least, one main component that contains 50% responsible material and technologies.
We further strive towards a more responsible future of our products, through the principles of Reduce (chemicals, CO2, water and the use of virgin plastic), Recycle (materials and waste), Rethink (natural content, eco design, production processes) .
In the matter of packaging the overall ambition is to permanently reduce the amount of harmful-for-the-environment packaging we put on the market by:
- Increasing the part of recycled or FSC-certified paper.
- Reducing the amount of plastic, especially virgin plastic.
- Limiting the amount of packaging to the necessary minimum.
